There are many ways to get involved in competition. We have worked with several couples to help prepare them for competition as well as danced with numerous proam students in competition. For someone who wants to compete, we can help with every aspect of the process. We can provide assistance in costuming, make up, choreography, coaching, etc. You don't have to compete to go to a competition. They also offer a chance to take workshops from top level instructors, social dancing and shows that are very exciting to watch.
We can help if you want to compete and don't have a partner. ProAm competition is an exciting way to get involved. In this format, a student dances with their instructor and only the student is judged. Competition can be a fun and rewarding way to enhance learning how to dance. John and Karen regularly attend events on the United Country Western Dance Council (UCWDC) circuit. At these events, they offer country western and west coast swing competition.
The instructor fees for the events are $150. This is the only fee paid to the instructor for the regular events during the year (Worlds will have a separate fee schedule due to the extra costs involved for that event). This includes the warm-up and competition. A run through prior to the competition will be available if time permits. You will also need to make your own hotel arrangements and pay for your event pass, dance entries, meals, etc.
Please give us a call if you have any questions about competition.
